Emergency Preparedness
Emergency Preparedness focuses on preparing equipment and procedures for use when a disaster occurs. Preparedness measures can take many forms including the construction of shelters, installation of warning devices, creation of back-up life-line services (e.g., power, water, sewage), and rehearsing evacuation plans.
The Five W’s of Emergency Preparedness:
Who should prepare? – Government at all levels; businesses, big and small; communities; and most importantly, INDIVIDUALS LIKE – YOU!!!
What do I do? – Individuals and Families: Get a Kit, Make a Plan, Be Informed; Businesses: Develop a Continuity of Operations Plan

Where do I need to prepare? – At home, work, within your child’s school, everywhere.
Why should I prepare? – Because disaster will strike and being prepared makes the effect much less worse!!!
