2010 Harford County Farm Fair

The Harford County Farm Fair, Inc. and the Harford County Health Department welcome you as we celebrate the 23rd Annual Farm Fair from Thursday, July 29 through Sunday, August 1, 2010.  Along with lots of exhilarating competitions, agricultural exhibits, great-tasting foods and treats, games, rides and other amusements for the entire family, there are also exciting opportunities for education.

Consider among them a visit to the Harford County Health Department display booth featuring Derma Scan, a device used to show skin damage normally attributed to excessive sun exposure and dehydration, but that is invisible to the naked eye.  This screening is significant in educating individuals about preventing skin damage that can lead to skin cancer and premature aging of the skin.

Special emphasis this year will be placed on informing our public what you need to know about:

• Skin cancer prevention and protection from UV radiation
• Staying safe amidst this summer’s torrid temperatures and heat index
• Ongoing efforts to prevent influenza and related illness

Learn what you and your family can do to stay healthy and to protect yourselves and others from potentially serious dangerous exposure to UV radiation from natural and artificial sources.

You’ll find us at our usual location.  Check your Farm Fair maps or ask your friends.  Stop by and spend just a little time, have some fun with us, and leave with important health information to protect you and your family.  We’ll see you at the Fair!
